Reconnect to Yourself
Everyone underestimates the dandelion.  The seem too...common.  Once a treasured garden flower, today they are uprooted regularly as weeds.  Dandelions are quite remarkable, though.  They don't need much to survive: sunlight, disturbed soil.  Yet their adaptability is unparalleled.  They are stunningly tenacious.  They can survive - indeed, even thrive - in the harshest of conditions.  Their history is as deep and unexpected as their roots.  Their healing properties have made them the darlings of herbalists.

We are no different.

Life chases that knowledge from us, though, doesn't it?  There are soul wounds, disappointments, betrayals, a giving way beneath us.  We were already complicated, in a human sense as rich and mysterious and wonderful as the fragrant, fertile earth with its layers of loamy potential.  But when life's trials pile on, we become complicated in a different, more restricting way, straightjacketed by others' expectations, by false selves we adopt to safeguard our wounds, by ill-fitting labels, by defense mechanisms.  Eventually, we figure out we can't really move through life like that, so shackled and encumbered.  We find our courage and seek help.  A self-help book, a program, a mental health professional, a diagnosis, or two or three.  Some medication.  Maybe we make a little progress, but our problems persist through time and effort, and we feel defeated.

I believe that people have the ability to transcend limiting beliefs about themselves and to move into healthier, more authentic living.  The goal of Reconnect Therapeutic Coaching is to reconnect you to your true self, to the sun-and-lion-tooth you that has been undervalued, distorted or lost in life's vicissitudes.  This journey home to self almost always involves a process of deconstruction, where those old, ill-fitting, unhelpful layers are stripped away.

My life's work is to help people on just that kind of journey.

The truth is that we are our own healers.  Everything the dandelion - or the mighty oak tree - will become is already contained within the seed that goes into the ground.  We are no different.

My office is your sanctuary, and our relationship a safe place where you can be seen, heard, understood, respected, held, and challenged.  I see myself as a teammate on your sacred journey, someone to help hold your hand, your heart, and your dreams, as you "begin again."

“When we observe and respect the natural tendencies of humanness and our deep desire for connection to self, community, and to a higher power – along with movement, purpose, nourishment, and nature – we may find that the need to hyper-classify becomes less protective. The need to apply outside labels to ourselves eventually becomes downright uncomfortable, and finally, ultimately, not useful as true healing takes place.”
